Super bowl and Media adds

I find it extremely interesting how so many high name companies pay millions to to advertise for 30 seconds on the Superbowl. Granted I understand it is the biggest watched event every year but I am pretty sure people still watch just as much television every other day and still see image lasting commercials that they will remember more than the Superbowl. The only reason I say they will remember them more is not because they are more entertaining or funny than the Superbowl commercials(because we all know that is what they're known for) but because they get played hundreds of times over and over again till we can recite them in our sleep. I personally do not think the Superbowl ads are worth it because you can pay for a regular time slot and just have the commercial played hundreds of times for the same price as one 30 second commercial during the game and it would be a lot more affective.

  1. I agree with you. This year’s commercials had no longevity at all. I can’t even remember them except I know a few video games were marketed. But you’re right. Why waste all kinds of money playing one ad for 30 seconds when you want to make sure everyone see’s the ad more than once? I can probably sing you about 5 jingles for carpeting over telling you what 5 commercials I saw last night. I think putting your ad on during the Superbowl is kind of a bad idea. When the game is in intermission I’m either running to the bathroom or grabbing some more wings. I sat around for the first couple commercials to see if they would be funny, but they really weren’t other than that chicken one I saw real quick, but I can’t even tell you what they were advertising.

  2. a lot of companies have opted not to advertize during the superbowl, or on tv at all. seen any addidias advertisements lately? they are all almost exclusively online.
