Formal writing vs Informal writing

The great debate begins as the use of formal and informal writing both have their place when it comes to deciding on how you want to write and convey a message or statement to someone else. To me personally, I favor using informal writing because it helps me get across my message to whom ever I am trying to communicate it to fast and simple. Verses formal writing which favors longer, more detailed sentences to thoroughly covey a thought. When I write informally I do not have to concern myself much with my vocabulary along with punctuation because the receiver of the message on the other side understand my basic thoughts through this simplistic style. Informal writing uses an emotional tone compared to formal writing which uses impersonal tone. Informal writing usually uses first or second person point of view and often discusses topics with humor as compared to formal writing which discusses topics with more gravity. Overall, both styles of writing are important and have their own value and usage in the proper setting. One cannot be equipped as a communication major or any college major for that matter, without having full grasps on when to use each type of language and writing how each affects the communication and message you are sending.

Magic 8 ball movie?

Yes thats right people I just read that Paramount is planning on coming out with a movie about the magic 8 ball. This is great because I no we all use to have one when were younger to help us make decisions. I think that they could make this movie hillarious if they eight ball was the main character. Picture people coming up to it and talking to it but it answers by just shaking and giving a classic eight ball answer. Jon Gunn and John Mann will write the script, who have helped make a few good dreamsworks movies. Paramount could make this a big success like they have before with children's toys: Transformers and G.I Joe.

Puss in Boots in shrek 4

I attend the Campus Movie fest for a third straight year here at bridgewater state on Wednesday night. The last two years I helped Alex Perry in his movies and both years we won. This year I did not help him but decided to help a few of my other buddies that could of used the help more. When I went and watched all 15 movies on Wednesday night I was actually more impressed than I thought I would be. I was happy to see most of the movies came out great and there is more movie making talent here than I had thought. I am glad to see this because us students here feed off of each other. I am glad that this festival comes to this school every year around this time. It almost gives the campus a buzz and students are proud to put their work on display. Keep it up students of BSC!

Summer Flics

I was just reading an article on Yahoo about movies coming out this summer and I chuckled. I am pumped for Iron Man 2 and Karate Kid. Mikey Rourke looks like a great villain in Iron Man 2 and I love Will Smith's son as the karate kid and Jakie Chan as Mr Miyagi. I also like the newer version of the A team starring Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel and an appearance from UFC's Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. This should be an entertaining summer and a hot one at that! But what I am most excited for is the Best Worst Movie. I just watched the trailer and it was hysterical. It is based on the movie Troll 2 and how it was hated by so many but now 2o years after it was made people are re uniting and making it so popular. It's a twist and it may not sound funny the way I talk about it but do yourself a favor and watch the trailer.

Clash of the Titans

I have not yet seen a movie in 3d at Imax but I am definitely considering doing so after seeing the previews for Clash of the Titans. Warner Brothers brings an old fashion action story that we have all read or heard probably in elementary or middle school to life. Some of the monsters they have made in the movie look amazing almost frightening a 21 year old man like myself never mind what it might do to children. I always found the story of the Titans and the Greek god's to be very interesting, now that they have added they unbelievable graphics and animations to the story I am willing to spend the ten dollars or whatever it is to go watch it(probably more now!)

Creative Website haha

I just fell upon this great website that keeps me laughing for hours called textfromlastnight.com. This site lets viewers see what others have texted to some that is embarrising yet at the same time hilarious. Viewer then once reading the text get to decide if he or she who sent it had a good or bad night by voting on the comment. You may also comment about the situation. The website has become so popular with teens and college students that they have created their own application for the iphone/itouch by apple. I have always seen people leaving these hilarious messages to one another on facebook but never knew why they had a set of numbers with parentheses in front of them. This stands for the area code that the text was sent from. I suggest you take a look at this website it is worth a few laughs.

Process in making a production

I have never realized the process it takes to make a film production ranging from a commercial to a feature film. I watched a documentary on making a 30 second commercial and it took almost 3 days to shoot, just for around 6 or 7 shots. I am also in class this semester where you have to make your own 15 minute feature film by yourself. At first I thought no problem but this an extremely hard task to succeed at alone. I give tons of credit to all those underground producers and directors with hardly any money trying to succeed making a 90 minute movie. I now realize how hard it is to make anything today on Tv or in theaters but hey that is why people love making and watching them.
